Support Central
Version 6.1 of DocJet does not look for a license. No maintenance subscription or
license of any kind is required to run this version. I will still provide support
on a voluntary basis for some years to come, but I cannot offer any guarantees.
If you're running an old version of DocJet, the license server now grants all requests
for licenses, so you can install licenses on as many machines as you like. The license
server will continue to run for quite some time to come, so there is no need to rush to
upgrade to version 6.1. However, it the SSL certificate will be allowed to lapse, and
thus HTTPS protocols will someday not work. This will impact you if you have a password
protecting your licenses. You should clear your password soon to avoid future trouble.
I considered putting DocJet on Open Source, but DocJet's build requirements are
awfully complicated. It requires old versions of Visual Studio, Installshield, and
an assortment of open-source tools. It would be extremely difficult for anyone
to unwind the intricacies of it all.
